As the climate crisis intensifies, many are carrying a quiet grief — a deep emotional response to
the losses unfolding in the natural world. This presentation offers an overview of climate psychology and the emotional impacts of the climate crisis. It reviews therapeutic approaches for addressing climate anxiety, grief, and despair. We will explore mindfulness, creative arts, and nature-based practices to decrease distress, deepen connection, and enhance meaning, emotional resilience, and adaptability — both in ourselves and in those we support.
Please bring a journal or paper, a pen, an object from nature that feels comforting, a bowl of
water, and 5-10 rocks/stones
