Jean Rowe, LCSW, Certified Journal Therapist. Jean serves as a contract therapist for All Souls Counseling Center, provides clinical supervision to social workers in GA and NC and facilitates journal writing workshops with individuals and groups both locally and nationally. Her original programs include themes around body image and intimacy, addressing compassion fatigue and burnout, journal drop ins to temper the triggers of everyday life and coping through the holidays. Grounded in all of them is the importance of self-care.
In this session, participants will be provided with an overview of research regarding (a) compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, burnout and moral injury; (b) the importance of self care; and (c) the benefits of expressive writing. The session will include experiential offerings for participants to journal together through short-time, guided prompts.

Midlife clients may seek support for sleep disruption, unfamiliar anxiety, low mood, cognitive concerns, or work and relationship strain without recognizing the menopausal transition as one possible part of the picture. Using the composite case of Nicole and the Meno-PAUSE framework, this interactive workshop helps EAP and behavioral health professionals broaden, not replace, the differential; ask five contextual questions; and respond within behavioral health scope.
Participants practice brief, evidence-informed approaches to psychoeducation, coping, sleep support, self-compassion, and regulation while exploring identity, meaning, confidence, and wellbeing in midlife. Clear medical and behavioral health referral pathways are reinforced through polls, paired dialogue, breakout case work, role-play, guided practice, and reflection for in-person and virtual participation.
