Special Chapter Meeting in August
On August 9 & 10, Andy LeFave, LCSW, CEAP will be presenting on Coaching in the Workplace. This training will be a two-day event with 13 PDHs available. Andy is a well known, international speaker on this topic with extensive experience in the EA field.
At the strategic planning meeting last year the Board voted to plan a workshop in which the members could benefit from the success of the 2005 conference and it allocated funds to offset the cost of a special training event. The time has come and registration for both days and all training materials will be just $35.00 and will include lunch. Typically this type of training and the materials would be hundreds of dollars! The training is for EAPA-NC Chapter members only and will be limited to the first 50 registrants.
Clarion Hotel Greensboro will provide rooms which include a breakfast buffet for $85.00 per night. Reservation cut-off is July 8, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. The training will also be located at this hotel.

Registration forms will be available by the end of May. Remember, only 50 members will be able to attend so don't delay!
October 2006 Chapter Meeting Training
Once again we will meet at Moore Regional Medical Center in Pinehurst on Thursday, October 19 for the day. The morning topic will be "Addictions and Dual-Diagnosis" and the afternoon session topic will be on "Gambling and Addiction". Please plan to join us.
Are You Listed?
The chapter is placing an ad in the Fall edition of NC HR Review. The ad will direct readers to our website to learn more about EAPs and to our EA Provider page to learn about providers in the state. To insure more exposure to HR professionals looking for a provider, now is the time to make sure you are listed on the Providers page of the website. One needs to be a NC EAPA chapter member. Listings are $50 per calendar year. Contact Andy Silberman at firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
Christine Jones, new member of the Technology Committee (yea, Christine!) is working on updating the Resources page on the website.
She is interested in hearing from members about resources in their local area and other links they believe would be beneficial to have listed.

Three names were approved by the Board and submitted to the Governor's Office for selection. This is to replace Roy Sonovick's position on the LEAP Board.
The Outreach Committee continues to look for ways to promote NCEAPA in the professional community. Do you have ideas that you'd like to share? If so, please contact Eileen Hodiak at the phone/email address listed below!
Sales of NCEAPA merchandise were a bit slow at the May Chapter training held at Fellowship Hall, but the pace of this training was anything BUT slow! This 6-hour training on Critical Incident Response in the Workplace flew by as participants learned some excellent information that will assist them in their daily work with employees.
The Outreach Committee presented our speaker, Dr. Betty Gilmore, with select NCEAPA merchandise of her choice as a "thank you" for her presentation. Mike Whaley, our host from Fellowship Hall, was also presented with NCEAPA kaleidoscopes for his management staff, as a "thank you" for hosting an NCEAPA chapter training for the 3rd year in a row.
The Outreach Committee is currently exploring the possibility of ordering NCEAPA golf shirts, which will be solid in color and carry the NCEAPA logo. These could be ready as early as the August training so be sure to watch for the August training announcement and plan to attend! The shirts will be first come, first serve!
And last, the Outreach Committee is already planning for next year's March 2007 Conference gift. If you have any ideas for items you would like to see considered, be sure to let me know!
